Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr), which rose 4.29% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.59 at the close. Alumil (AT:ALMr) added 3.82% or 0.12 points to end at 3.13 and Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) was up 3.03% or 0.06 points to 2.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which lost 1.92% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.82 in late trade. Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) declined 1.52% or 0.02 points to end at 1.17 and Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) shed 1.32% or 0.12 points to 9.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 51 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.39% or 10.50 to $2,689.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.34% or 0.24 to hit $70.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.14 to trade at $74.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 103.22.
