Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Alumil (AT:ALMr), which rose 2.91% or 0.12 points to trade at 4.25 at the close. Metlen Energy & Metals AE (AT:MYTr) added 2.18% or 0.72 points to end at 33.80 and Austriacard Holdings AG (AT:ACAGr) was up 1.75% or 0.10 points to 5.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr), which lost 2.26% or 0.50 points to trade at 21.60 in late trade. Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) declined 1.79% or 0.05 points to end at 2.75 and Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) shed 1.54% or 0.13 points to 8.29.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 50 and 23 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 2.00% or 55.11 to $2,701.59 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.35% or 0.95 to hit $69.34 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.88 to trade at $72.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 106.64.
