Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr), which rose 3.69% or 0.26 points to trade at 7.20 at the close. Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) added 3.20% or 0.80 points to end at 25.80 and Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) was up 3.15% or 0.08 points to 2.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which lost 2.78% or 0.03 points to trade at 1.05 in late trade. Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) declined 2.38% or 0.05 points to end at 1.89 and Ideal Group SA (AT:IDEr) shed 2.37% or 0.14 points to 5.77.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 61 to 57 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.22% or 5.81 to $2,664.31 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.35% or 1.60 to hit $69.70 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.13% or 1.53 to trade at $73.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 106.22.
