Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which rose 3.25% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.54 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 2.14% or 0.08 points to end at 3.87 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was up 1.94% or 0.11 points to 5.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 1.47% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.33 in late trade. Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) declined 1.11% or 0.02 points to end at 1.79 and Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) shed 0.96% or 0.09 points to 9.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 76 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.95% or 25.85 to $2,733.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.22% or 1.57 to hit $69.10 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.11% or 1.57 to trade at $72.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 103.39.
