Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Autohellas (AT:AUTr), which rose 3.48% or 0.79 points to trade at 23.50 at the close. Public Power (AT:DEHr) added 3.43% or 0.06 points to end at 1.81 and Hellenic Exchanges Athens Stock Exchange SA (AT:EXCr) was up 3.21% or 0.14 points to 4.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 13.13% or 0.086 points to trade at 0.569 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 9.68% or 0.003 points to end at 0.028 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 3.70% or 0.005 points to 0.130.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 51 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.78% or 9.90 to $1256.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.80% or 0.45 to hit $56.41 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.06% or 0.65 to trade at $61.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1791, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8792.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.65.
