Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which rose 5.04% or 0.70 points to trade at 14.60 at the close. Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) added 3.27% or 0.50 points to end at 15.80 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 2.35% or 0.04 points to 1.83 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which lost 2.17% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.25 in late trade. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 2.05% or 0.03 points to end at 1.53 and HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) shed 1.91% or 0.13 points to 6.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 60 to 54 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.14% or 30.40 to $2,705.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.20% or 0.84 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.68 to trade at $74.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 107.55.
