Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Resources and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 4.47% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.072 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 3.48% or 0.040 points to end at 1.190 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was up 3.17% or 0.080 points to 2.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Plaisio Comp (AT:PLAr), which lost 4.27% or 0.170 points to trade at 3.810 in late trade. Kekrops SA (AT:KEKr) declined 4.05% or 0.0600 points to end at 1.4200 and Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr) shed 3.18% or 0.22 points to 6.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 52 to 49 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.44% or 5.40 to $1222.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.86% or 0.61 to hit $71.58 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.26 to trade at $80.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1561, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 94.93.
