Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Household and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Public Power (AT:DEHr), which rose 4.85% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.16 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 4.73% or 0.070 points to end at 1.550 and Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) was up 4.51% or 0.600 points to 13.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which lost 3.03% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.288 in late trade. Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) declined 2.33% or 0.035 points to end at 1.465 and Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr) shed 1.51% or 0.16 points to 10.44.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 44 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.15% or 1.90 to $1297.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.40% or 0.92 to hit $64.89 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.68% or 1.29 to trade at $75.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1694, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.02.
