Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which rose 7.46% or 1.00 points to trade at 14.40 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 4.86% or 0.07 points to end at 1.47 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 3.57% or 0.06 points to 1.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which lost 2.46% or 0.32 points to trade at 12.70 in late trade. Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) declined 1.86% or 0.16 points to end at 8.44 and Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) shed 1.68% or 0.03 points to 1.76.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 51 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.47% or 12.46 to $2,655.06 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.23% or 0.85 to hit $69.79 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.12% or 0.81 to trade at $73.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 106.86.
