Investing.com – India equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as in the sectors propelled shares .

At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 unchanged 0%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index unchanged 0%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS:HALC), which unchanged 0% or 0 points to trade at 66.40 at the close. Tata Steel Ltd (NS:TISC) unchanged 0% or 0 points to end at 247.90 and Cipla Ltd. (NS:CIPL) was unchanged 0% or 0 points to 513.95 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY), which unchanged 0% or 0 points to trade at 3013.20 in late trade. Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL) unchanged 0% or 0 points to end at 768.90 and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (NS:IOC) 0% or 0 points to 370.85.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC) which unchanged 0% to 247.85, Cipla Ltd. (BO:CIPL) which was unchanged 0% to settle at 513.80 and Gail (India) Ltd. (BO:GAIL) which unchanged 0% to close at 314.05.

The worst performers were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which was unchanged 0% to 3013.45 in late trade, Coal India Ltd (BO:COAL) which unchanged 0% to settle at 295.60 and State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which was unchanged 0% to 156.70 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1268 to 283 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1931 fell and 578 advanced, while 112 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was unchanged 0% to 22.9550 a new 3-month high.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.78% or 21.80 to $1244.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.22% or 0.07 to hit $31.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.68% or 0.89 to trade at $34.16 a barrel.

USD/INR was unchanged 0.00% to 68.530, while EUR/INR unchanged 0.00% to 75.5430.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 97.38.
