Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Food and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which rose 9.02% or 0.6000 points to trade at 7.2500 at the close. ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) added 2.66% or 0.70 points to end at 27.00 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 2.22% or 0.018 points to 0.828 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 6.80% or 0.035 points to trade at 0.480 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 6.16% or 0.180 points to end at 2.740 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) shed 5.03% or 0.0095 points to 0.1795.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 32 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.19% or 2.40 to $1287.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.39% or 0.28 to hit $71.03 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.24 to trade at $78.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.1780, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8736.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 93.39.
