Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.05% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 7.95% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.163 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) added 7.08% or 0.007 points to end at 0.100 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 5.93% or 0.160 points to 2.860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which lost 7.60% or 0.1900 points to trade at 2.3100 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 7.27% or 0.002 points to end at 0.025 and Intralot (AT:INLr) shed 3.40% or 0.036 points to 1.024.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 41 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1257.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.42% or 0.24 to hit $57.28 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $63.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1769, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.8832.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 93.84.
