Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.05% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 6.97% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.32 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) added 4.09% or 0.04 points to end at 0.97 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 1.57% or 0.06 points to 3.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr), which lost 2.80% or 0.58 points to trade at 20.14 in late trade. Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) declined 1.68% or 0.01 points to end at 0.76 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) shed 1.67% or 0.07 points to 3.83.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 50 and 28 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.36% or 9.66 to $2,658.06 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.48% or 1.01 to hit $67.29 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 0.95 to trade at $71.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 105.95.
