Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr), which rose 2.30% or 0.90 points to trade at 40.00 at the close. Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr) added 1.70% or 0.14 points to end at 8.38 and Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) was up 1.51% or 0.45 points to 30.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr), which lost 3.73% or 0.31 points to trade at 8.00 in late trade. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) declined 1.95% or 0.30 points to end at 15.05 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) shed 1.77% or 0.03 points to 1.89.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 42 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.89% or 50.09 to $2,603.21 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.09% or 0.77 to hit $69.81 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.37% or 0.27 to trade at $73.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.49% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 108.00.
