Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 1.93% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.60 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 1.74% or 0.03 points to end at 1.75 and Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) was up 1.39% or 0.40 points to 29.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which lost 3.30% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.06 in late trade. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 3.08% or 0.01 points to end at 0.28 and Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) shed 2.94% or 0.02 points to 0.73.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 51 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.30 to $2,749.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.87% or 1.30 to hit $70.79 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.76% or 1.29 to trade at $74.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 103.64.
