HUDDERSFIELD, England (Reuters) - Brentford's promotion bid continued to falter when they were held to a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town in the second tier Championship on Saturday.
Huddersfield took the lead when Brentford goalkeeper David Raya came off his line and found himself scrambling in no man's land when the home side nicked the ball for Lewis O'Brien to score from long range.
Brentford equalised four minutes after the restart with a scrappy goal. Pontus Jansson's effort was cleared off the line but Vitaly Janelt picked up the loose ball and found Mads Sorensen who levelled from seven yards.
Brentford climbed to third in the table on 69 points, nine points behind second-placed Watford who have played a game more and occupy the second automatic promotion spot.
