Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Basic Resources and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Technology and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.27%, while the MDAX index added 0.39%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGN), which rose 1.72% or 0.635 points to trade at 37.500 at the close. Deutsche Boerse NA O.N. (XETRA:DB1Gn) added 1.51% or 1.250 points to end at 84.000 and Continental AG O.N. (XETRA:CONG) was up 1.44% or 2.950 points to 207.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG), which lost 2.38% or 0.400 points to trade at 16.425 in late trade. Commerzbank AG O.N. (XETRA:CBKG) declined 1.87% or 0.210 points to end at 11.010 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (XETRA:IFXGn) shed 1.43% or 0.138 points to 9.515.
The top performers on the MDAX were Tui AG NA (XETRA:TUIGn) which rose 4.77% to 16.350, Deutsche Euroshop AG O.N. (XETRA:DEQGn) which was up 3.06% to settle at 41.875 and LEG Immobilien AG (XETRA:LEGn) which gained 3.06% to close at 71.830.
The worst performers were Bilfinger SE O.N. (XETRA:GBFG) which was down 3.57% to 36.620 in late trade, Fraport AG (XETRA:FRAG) which lost 1.12% to settle at 55.870 and Wincor Nixdorf O.N. (XETRA:WING) which was down 0.92% to 37.735 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (XETRA:S92G) which rose 2.40% to 36.280, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (XETRA:DRWG_p) which was up 2.33% to settle at 92.810 and PSI AG F.Pr.U.Sys. NA (XETRA:PSAGn) which gained 1.63% to close at 12.190.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which was down 1.82% to 5.346 in late trade, BB Biotech AG (XETRA:BIONn) which lost 1.52% to settle at 277.750 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (XETRA:COPMa) which was down 1.27% to 29.650 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 371 to 355 and 44 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.10% to 20.76.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.20 to $1113.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.78% or 0.33 to hit $42.56 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.35 to trade at $49.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1114, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.7111.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 96.59.
