Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Financial Services and Consumer & Cyclical sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Transportation & Logistics and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.05%, while the MDAX index added 0.09%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 2.94% or 0.48 points to trade at 16.79 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 2.77% or 1.40 points to end at 51.90 and Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) was up 2.16% or 2.70 points to 127.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which lost 2.49% or 0.73 points to trade at 28.54 in late trade. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 2.48% or 0.77 points to end at 30.26 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) shed 2.21% or 1.44 points to 63.72.
The top performers on the MDAX were AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which rose 6.10% to 16.69, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 3.89% to settle at 37.36 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which gained 2.99% to close at 124.10.
The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was down 4.35% to 5.59 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which lost 2.93% to settle at 67.68 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 2.59% to 28.60 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which rose 4.26% to 11.76, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 3.89% to settle at 37.36 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 2.70% to close at 8.56.
The worst performers were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 6.24% to 42.80 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 2.28% to settle at 45.46 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 1.60% to 29.60 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 341 to 262 and 23 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.75% to 15.40.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.40% or 10.79 to $2,683.19 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.05% or 0.77 to hit $74.09 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.13% or 0.86 to trade at $77.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 109.00.
