At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index rose 0.94%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index also increased. The FTSE 250 climbed 0.22%, while the FTSE 350 increased by 0.82%.

- Diploma (LON:DPLM): Fell 2.67% or 114.00 points to 4,162.00
- Smurfit Kappa (LON:SWR): Dropped 2.12% or 79.0 points to 3,653.0
- InterContinental (LON:IHG): Declined 0.83% or 70.0 points to 8,322.0
In Commodities Trading:
- Gold Futures for August delivery climbed 16.50 points to 2,476.40 a troy ounce.
- Crude Oil for September delivery rose 0.74 points to 82.18 a barrel.
- September Brent Oil Contract increased 0.75% or 0.64 points to 85.72 a barrel.
Currency Markets:
- GBP/USD is testing 1.30 with a daily range of 1.2984-1.3014.
- EUR/GBP is stable at 0.84.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 103.495
