Investing.com – U.K. equities started with gains on Wednesday, with gain in majority of sectors, the most notable ones being the Travel & Leisure, Mobile Telecommunications, Mining and Food Producers.
At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index rose 0.23%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index also increased. The FTSE 250 climbed 0.07%, while the FTSE 350 increased by 0.17%.

- IAG (LON:ICAG): Increased 3.09% or 5.35 points to 178.25
- EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ): Rose 1.64% or 7.61 points to 473.01
- Next PLC (LON:NXT): Climbed 1.66% or 144.0 points to 8,818.0
Top Losers:
- Barratt Developments (LON:BDEV): Fell 2.46% or 12.10 points to 479.10
- Smurfit Kappa (LON:SWR): Dropped 1.57% or 55.0 points to 3,455.0
- Taylor Wimpey (LON:TW): Declined 0.90% or 1.35 points to 149.35
In Commodities Trading:
- Gold Futures for August delivery rose 10.80 points to 2,378.70 a troy ounce.
- Crude Oil for August delivery fell 0.48 points to 80.93 a barrel.
- September Brent Oil Contract dropped 0.76% or 0.64 points to 84.02 a barrel.
Currency Markets:
- GBP/USD is cruising just under 1.28 at 1.2797.
- EUR/GBP is stable at 0.84.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 104.765
