Investing.com – U.K. equities started higher on Friday, with rises in Mining, Personal Goods, Industrial Metals & Mining and Automobiles & Parts sectors.
At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index climbed 0.20%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index also rose. The FTSE 250 increased 0.27%, while the FTSE 350 was up by 0.10%.
- Fresnillo (LON:FRES): Climbed 2.33% or 12.50 points to 550.00.
- Burberry Group (LON:BRBY): Rose 2.02% or 11.8 points to 596.2.
- Entain (LON:ENT): Increased 1.60% or 11.40 points to 725.60.
- AstraZeneca (LON:AZN): Dropped 1.73% or 208.0 points to 11,842.0.
- J Sainsbury (LON:SBRY): Fell 1.35% or 4.00 points to 291.80.
- Marks & Spencer (LON:MKS): Declined 1.17% or 4.10 points to 347.70.
In Commodities Trading:
- Gold Futures for December delivery climbed 11.95 points to 2,592.55 a troy ounce.
- Crude Oil for October delivery rose 0.45 points to 69.42 a barrel.
- November Brent Oil Contract increased 0.57% or 0.41 points to 72.38 a barrel.
Currency Markets:
- GBP/USD started climbing to 1.31 today, trying to stabilise at 1.3133.
- EUR/GBP is at 0.84.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 101.139.
