Investing.com - U.K. equities started with gains on Friday, with rises in half of the sectors, the most notable risers being the Life Insurance, Banks, Mobile Telecommunications and Oil & Gas sectors, while Industrial Engineering, Household Goods and Automobiles & Parts fell.
At the market open in London, the FTSE 100 Index increased 0.02%. The FTSE 250 Index and the FTSE 350 Index also rose. The FTSE 250 climbed 0.08%, while the FTSE 350 increased by 0.10%.

- Flutter (LON:FLTRF) Entertainment: Fell 1.31% or 185.0 points to 13,985.0
- Severn Trent (LON:SVT): Declined 1.21% or 30.6 points to 2,489.4
- United Utilities (LON:UU): Dropped 0.95% or 10.00 points to 1,040.50
In Commodities Trading:
- Gold Futures for August delivery rose 8.20 points to 2,326.20 a troy ounce.
- Crude Oil for July delivery declined 0.46 points to 78.16 a barrel.
- August Brent Oil Contract fell 0.40% or 0.33 points to 82.24 a barrel.
Currency Markets:
- GBP/USD stays below 1.2750.
- EUR/GBP is also stable at 0.84.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 105.130
