Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.91%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.65% or 3.70 points to trade at 105.20 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) added 3.28% or 6.65 points to end at 209.35 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was up 3.08% or 0.28 points to 9.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which lost 1.46% or 0.78 points to trade at 52.76 in late trade. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) added 0.38% or 0.13 points to end at 34.15 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) gained 0.45% or 0.05 points to 10.15.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which rose 6.63% to 8.27, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 5.65% to settle at 4.08 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which gained 4.88% to close at 1.91.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 5.96% to 4.17 in late trade, Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which lost 2.15% to settle at 37.84 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which was down 1.46% to 52.76 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 346 to 143 and 91 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.13% or 3.05 to $2,434.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.20% or 2.34 to hit $75.54 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.75% or 2.10 to trade at $78.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 102.99.
