Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.69%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which rose 1.35% or 0.46 points to trade at 34.46 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) added 0.95% or 2.10 points to end at 222.90 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 0.84% or 0.09 points to 10.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which lost 4.40% or 3.38 points to trade at 73.40 in late trade. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 2.97% or 1.13 points to end at 36.78 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) shed 2.57% or 2.75 points to 104.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 3.92% to 3.18, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 1.46% to settle at 3.05 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) which gained 1.35% to close at 34.46.
The worst performers were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was down 16.32% to 146.85 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which lost 14.04% to settle at 19.38 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 9.70% to 1.19 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 322 to 161 and 96 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.06% or 50.60 to $2,405.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.85% or 1.50 to hit $79.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.50% or 1.28 to trade at $83.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.03.
