Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Financials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, General Financial and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.56%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (EPA:DANO), which rose 1.99% or 1.14 points to trade at 58.54 at the close. Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) added 1.44% or 0.20 points to end at 13.73 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was up 1.25% or 3.95 points to 320.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB), which lost 3.61% or 2.74 points to trade at 73.12 in late trade. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) declined 2.99% or 1.50 points to end at 48.66 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) shed 1.95% or 2.00 points to 100.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Danone SA (EPA:DANO) which rose 1.99% to 58.54, BIC (EPA:BICP) which was up 1.45% to settle at 55.90 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) which gained 1.44% to close at 13.73.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 32.56% to 1.17 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which lost 4.71% to settle at 20.22 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was down 4.54% to 30.50 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 338 to 159 and 101 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.16% or 27.45 to $2,341.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.21% or 0.17 to hit $81.12 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.11 to trade at $85.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 105.46.
