Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Technology, Foods & Drugs and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.50%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.95% or 3.80 points to trade at 100.00 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) added 2.24% or 0.75 points to end at 34.29 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.66% or 1.64 points to 100.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which lost 1.94% or 1.20 points to trade at 60.71 in late trade. AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) declined 1.83% or 0.66 points to end at 35.50 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) shed 1.61% or 0.23 points to 13.78.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which rose 6.04% to 8.92, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was up 3.95% to settle at 100.00 and Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which gained 2.71% to close at 151.60.
The worst performers were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 6.66% to 6.22 in late trade, Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which lost 4.68% to settle at 34.11 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 4.52% to 11.42 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 271 to 226 and 93 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 3.90 to $2,680.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.12% or 1.52 to hit $70.04 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.64% or 1.22 to trade at $73.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 100.50.
