Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.34%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 1.37% or 1.08 points to trade at 79.73 at the close. Danone SA (PA:DANO) added 1.25% or 0.79 points to end at 64.00 and Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA) was up 1.24% or 0.063 points to 5.151 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Total SA (PA:TOTF), which lost 1.50% or 0.70 points to trade at 46.05 in late trade. Kering SA (PA:PRTP) declined 1.42% or 3.40 points to end at 236.75 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) shed 1.05% or 0.63 points to 59.65.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which rose 2.25% to 6.3500, Eurazeo (PA:EURA) which was up 2.21% to settle at 61.51 and Zodiac Aerospace (PA:ZODC) which gained 2.09% to close at 22.75.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications (PA:ETL) which was down 3.29% to 19.98 in late trade, Ingenico Group (PA:INGC) which lost 3.08% to settle at 92.08 and SES (PA:SESFd) which was down 2.39% to 19.16 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 321 to 300 and 102 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 25.25% to 12.53.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.29% or 3.55 to $1233.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.53% or 0.26 to hit $49.05 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $51.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.0743, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8698.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 100.15.
