Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.61% to hit a new 6-month low, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which rose 0.98% or 3.75 points to trade at 384.80 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 0.45% or 0.65 points to end at 145.15 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was down 0.72% or 1.50 points to 206.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which lost 5.83% or 6.45 points to trade at 104.10 in late trade. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 4.08% or 1.14 points to end at 26.78 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) shed 3.78% or 1.07 points to 27.24.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which rose 0.98% to 384.80, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which was up 0.79% to settle at 127.60 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which gained 0.49% to close at 72.35.
The worst performers were Rubis SCA (EPA:RUBF) which was down 8.16% to 26.12 in late trade, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which lost 7.67% to settle at 1.66 and JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which was down 6.96% to 17.51 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 478 to 72 and 48 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.10% or 27.20 to $2,442.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.35% or 0.26 to hit $73.26 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $76.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 102.55.
