Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.05%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 2.47% or 2.16 points to trade at 89.58 at the close. Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) added 1.32% or 0.19 points to end at 15.00 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was up 1.26% or 0.79 points to 63.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which lost 4.80% or 3.00 points to trade at 59.49 in late trade. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 3.87% or 15.15 points to end at 376.40 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) shed 3.80% or 1.30 points to 32.88.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which rose 4.42% to 8.74, Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which was up 3.67% to settle at 25.40 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which gained 3.25% to close at 5.55.
The worst performers were Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 9.64% to 75.90 in late trade, Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which lost 4.98% to settle at 41.00 and X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which was down 4.94% to 5.10 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 280 to 209 and 101 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.62% or 16.55 to $2,682.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 5.19% or 3.83 to hit $70.00 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.97% or 3.85 to trade at $73.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 102.97.
