Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.94% to hit a new 3-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.99%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV), which rose 0.35% or 0.07 points to trade at 18.89 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) added 0.16% or 0.35 points to end at 216.20 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was down 0.14% or 0.09 points to 66.10 in late trade.

Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 2.34% or 0.520 points to trade at 21.680 in late trade. Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) declined 2.32% or 1.36 points to end at 57.16 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) shed 2.29% or 1.30 points to 55.38.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were GTT (PA:GTT) which rose 2.03% to 42.57, Wendel (PA:MWDP) which was up 1.60% to settle at 130.15 and Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which gained 1.51% to close at 29.235.

The worst performers were Metropole TV (PA:MMTP) which was down 8.00% to 18.23 in late trade, Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which lost 7.13% to settle at 11.000 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 3.66% to 4.023 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 465 to 125 and 86 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 9.81% to 15.99.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.30% or 3.98 to $1319.28 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.40% or 0.65 to hit $45.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.11 to trade at $51.31 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.2018, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.9294.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 91.97.
