Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.63%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (EPA:SAF), which rose 1.53% or 3.10 points to trade at 205.60 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 1.28% or 1.16 points to end at 92.10 and Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) was up 0.83% or 0.32 points to 38.97 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which lost 4.25% or 4.80 points to trade at 108.20 in late trade. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) declined 2.89% or 20.70 points to end at 695.70 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) shed 2.79% or 9.35 points to 325.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which rose 7.83% to 21.20, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was up 6.61% to settle at 9.84 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which gained 4.21% to close at 25.74.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 6.79% to 2.09 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 4.40% to settle at 0.70 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was down 4.25% to 108.20 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 273 to 251 and 79 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.63% or 39.05 to $2,358.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.05% or 0.87 to hit $82.29 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.81 to trade at $85.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 104.62.
