Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.50%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which rose 3.04% or 6.60 points to trade at 223.60 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 1.47% or 1.44 points to end at 99.34 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was up 1.30% or 3.00 points to 233.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which lost 2.98% or 0.74 points to trade at 24.11 in late trade. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) declined 2.33% or 5.60 points to end at 234.30 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) shed 1.97% or 2.95 points to 146.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which rose 3.89% to 56.15, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was up 3.79% to settle at 6.55 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) which gained 3.04% to close at 223.60.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 4.90% to 13.49 in late trade, X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which lost 4.42% to settle at 4.15 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 3.96% to 70.30 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 304 to 204 and 81 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.25% or 6.75 to $2,742.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.52% or 1.75 to hit $71.24 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.33% or 1.70 to trade at $74.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 103.79.
