Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.40%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 11.19% or 10.02 points to trade at 99.60 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 1.97% or 0.77 points to end at 39.95 and Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) was up 1.95% or 0.80 points to 41.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which lost 3.68% or 23.00 points to trade at 602.40 in late trade. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 2.18% or 8.20 points to end at 368.20 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) shed 1.34% or 28.00 points to 2,056.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which rose 11.19% to 99.60, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 6.83% to settle at 0.73 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which gained 6.46% to close at 20.44.
The worst performers were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 14.03% to 56.70 in late trade, Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which lost 13.14% to settle at 46.60 and Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which was down 9.17% to 25.25 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 245 to 231 and 104 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 5.00 to $2,683.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.21% or 0.15 to hit $70.43 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $74.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 103.28.
