Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.27% to hit a new 6-month low, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.52% or 0.48 points to trade at 19.55 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 1.95% or 2.54 points to end at 133.04 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.66% or 1.48 points to 90.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which lost 2.92% or 3.05 points to trade at 101.50 in late trade. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) declined 2.58% or 6.85 points to end at 258.50 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) shed 1.57% or 0.22 points to 13.49.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 9.87% to 1.83, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 6.93% to settle at 3.86 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which gained 5.93% to close at 1.41.
The worst performers were Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which was down 6.54% to 38.67 in late trade, Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which lost 3.23% to settle at 108.00 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 2.93% to 4.43 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 277 to 209 and 99 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.68% or 16.60 to $2,427.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.07% or 0.78 to hit $73.72 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.89% or 0.68 to trade at $76.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 102.82.
