Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.16%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale (PA:SOGN), which rose 3.16% or 0.90 points to trade at 29.41 at the close. Technip (PA:TECF) added 2.11% or 0.98 points to end at 47.73 and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) was up 1.57% or 0.64 points to 41.27 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AXA SA (PA:AXAF), which lost 1.98% or 0.34 points to trade at 17.05 in late trade. Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) declined 1.70% or 0.22 points to end at 12.69 and Airbus Group (PA:AIR) shed 1.56% or 0.80 points to 50.46.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) which rose 3.16% to 29.41, Technip (PA:TECF) which was up 2.11% to settle at 47.73 and Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) which gained 1.96% to close at 11.44.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 4.35% to 4.904 in late trade, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which lost 3.54% to settle at 17.9900 and Eurazeo (PA:EURA) which was down 2.47% to 54.52 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 366 to 284 and 109 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.22% to 21.64.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.57% or 7.85 to $1364.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.13% or 1.63 to hit $41.14 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.92% or 1.64 to trade at $43.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.1151, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8373.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 95.49.
