Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.01%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which rose 2.10% or 0.70 points to trade at 33.96 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) added 1.98% or 4.30 points to end at 221.90 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was up 1.73% or 2.40 points to 141.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which lost 11.53% or 6.20 points to trade at 47.56 in late trade. Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) declined 1.52% or 1.28 points to end at 82.98 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) shed 1.49% or 1.49 points to 98.34.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which rose 6.05% to 6.49, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was up 5.47% to settle at 8.84 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which gained 4.08% to close at 132.60.
The worst performers were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which was down 11.53% to 47.56 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which lost 2.77% to settle at 8.78 and Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which was down 2.62% to 133.70 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 255 to 233 and 96 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 14.05 to $2,752.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.80% or 1.96 to hit $72.00 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.60% or 1.93 to trade at $76.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.90.
