Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.27%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.62% or 0.55 points to trade at 21.57 at the close. Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) added 2.50% or 53.00 points to end at 2,170.00 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 2.48% or 4.65 points to 192.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which lost 0.81% or 0.12 points to trade at 14.05 in late trade. Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) declined 0.28% or 0.04 points to end at 14.23 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) shed 0.19% or 0.25 points to 130.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 20.31% to 1.07, Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which was up 4.65% to settle at 360.00 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which gained 4.41% to close at 13.08.
The worst performers were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which was down 2.40% to 10.59 in late trade, Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which lost 1.87% to settle at 28.85 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 1.63% to 2.90 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 291 to 197 and 102 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.15% or 3.60 to $2,418.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $82.63 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $85.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 103.79.
