Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.87%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH), which rose 4.81% or 11.54 points to trade at 251.69 at the close. Kering SA (PA:PRTP) added 2.64% or 10.60 points to end at 412.10 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) was up 2.25% or 2.85 points to 129.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which lost 0.57% or 0.32 points to trade at 55.88 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 0.53% or 0.07 points to end at 13.99 and Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) shed 0.38% or 0.07 points to 18.38.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) which rose 4.81% to 251.69, Metropole TV (PA:MMTP) which was up 3.66% to settle at 22.64 and GTT (PA:GTT) which gained 3.10% to close at 56.60.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications (PA:ETL) which was down 6.96% to 17.51 in late trade, SES (PA:SESFd) which lost 5.69% to settle at 12.19 and BIC (PA:BICP) which was down 1.69% to 92.90 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 355 to 228 and 108 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 2.16% to 11.81.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.78% or 10.60 to $1352.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.84% or 0.55 to hit $66.06 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $70.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.2424, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8761.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 88.84.
