Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.76%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 6.49% or 1.50 points to trade at 24.63 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 4.12% or 9.50 points to end at 240.10 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 4.02% or 6.20 points to 160.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD), which lost 7.28% or 7.63 points to trade at 97.22 in late trade. Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) declined 3.59% or 0.50 points to end at 13.28 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) shed 3.31% or 2.02 points to 59.05.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which rose 8.56% to 41.30, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was up 7.78% to settle at 9.14 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which gained 6.49% to close at 24.63.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 10.51% to 7.94 in late trade, Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) which lost 7.28% to settle at 97.22 and Coface (EPA:COFA) which was down 4.84% to 14.15 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 270 to 217 and 97 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.99% or 26.55 to $2,702.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.52% or 0.37 to hit $72.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.63% or 0.47 to trade at $75.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 104.35.
