Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.76%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.47% or 3.36 points to trade at 100.10 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 2.55% or 1.80 points to end at 72.36 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was up 2.46% or 0.23 points to 9.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which lost 4.26% or 0.62 points to trade at 13.92 in late trade. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 1.20% or 5.35 points to end at 441.55 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) shed 1.02% or 7.30 points to 710.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 14.17% to 1.13, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was up 7.92% to settle at 1.61 and Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:SOPR) which gained 5.46% to close at 196.90.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 5.09% to 2.05 in late trade, Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) which lost 4.26% to settle at 13.92 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which was down 2.58% to 77.30 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 336 to 181 and 97 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.62% or 14.35 to $2,343.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.73% or 0.58 to hit $80.30 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.76% or 0.64 to trade at $84.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.88.
