Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.21%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR), which rose 2.79% or 0.425 points to trade at 15.675 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) added 1.53% or 1.06 points to end at 70.20 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) was up 1.11% or 1.30 points to 118.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sodexo (PA:EXHO), which lost 0.91% or 0.91 points to trade at 98.88 in late trade. Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) declined 0.63% or 0.32 points to end at 49.95 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) shed 0.53% or 0.36 points to 67.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) which rose 2.79% to 15.675, Innate Pharma (PA:IPH) which was up 2.40% to settle at 11.090 and Edenred (PA:EDEN) which gained 2.31% to close at 23.07.
The worst performers were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was down 3.17% to 24.760 in late trade, Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which lost 1.40% to settle at 12.30 and Dassault Aviation (PA:AVMD) which was down 1.14% to 1283.35 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 311 to 256 and 113 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.10% to 12.54.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.25% or 3.22 to $1261.48 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.51% or 0.25 to hit $49.14 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.21 to trade at $52.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1743, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.9049.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 93.59.
