Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 1.20% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:TYRES), which rose 2.46% or 0.19 points to trade at 7.90 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 1.69% or 0.06 points to end at 3.31 and Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE) was up 1.32% or 0.23 points to 17.27 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which lost 6.26% or 0.80 points to trade at 11.90 in late trade. Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) declined 4.94% or 0.48 points to end at 9.16 and Qt Group Oyj (HE:QTCOM) shed 3.55% or 2.95 points to 80.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 123 to 43 and 21 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.04% or 0.84 to $81.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.05% or 0.81 to hit $77.77 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.64% or 15.40 to trade at $2,422.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 103.96.
