Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which rose 1.22% or 0.24 points to trade at 19.94 at the close. Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) added 1.14% or 0.10 points to end at 9.20 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) was up 1.00% or 0.48 points to 48.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV), which lost 4.06% or 0.46 points to trade at 10.75 in late trade. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) declined 3.24% or 0.94 points to end at 28.03 and Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA) shed 1.92% or 0.42 points to 21.48.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 100 to 67 and 21 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.09% or 0.07 to $74.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.24% or 0.17 to hit $70.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 6.80 to trade at $2,685.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.38% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 103.27.
