Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 1.65% or 0.1250 points to trade at 7.7200 at the close. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) added 0.76% or 0.36 points to end at 47.50 and Kesko Oyj (HE:KESKOB) was up 0.66% or 0.28 points to 42.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which lost 1.96% or 0.51 points to trade at 25.51 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 1.52% or 0.100 points to end at 6.475 and Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA) shed 1.35% or 0.52 points to 38.03.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 88 to 50 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.64% or 0.40 to $62.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.51% or 0.86 to hit $57.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.77% or 9.86 to trade at $1291.56 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1797, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 93.36.
