Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 2.07% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 7.94% or 0.326 points to trade at 4.432 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 4.08% or 0.2250 points to end at 5.7350 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) was up 3.42% or 0.23 points to 6.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which added 0.74% or 0.26 points to trade at 35.48 in late trade. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) added 0.84% or 0.075 points to end at 8.975 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) gained 1.03% or 0.38 points to 37.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 133 to 42 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.71% or 0.80 to $47.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.29% or 1.04 to hit $46.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.05% or 13.95 to trade at $1345.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1224, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8582.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 95.19.
