Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.06% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 1.06% or 0.070 points to trade at 6.690 at the close. Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) added 0.95% or 0.26 points to end at 27.51 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 0.87% or 0.37 points to 42.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which lost 1.32% or 0.062 points to trade at 4.624 in late trade. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) declined 0.75% or 0.23 points to end at 30.51 and Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) shed 0.46% or 0.22 points to 47.31.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 85 to 56 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.40% or 0.23 to $57.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.50% or 0.27 to hit $54.17 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1138.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.0373, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8496.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 103.57.
