Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM), which rose 5.18% or 0.69 points to trade at 14.01 at the close. Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE) added 3.19% or 0.43 points to end at 13.77 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) was up 2.48% or 0.11 points to 4.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V), which lost 1.51% or 0.28 points to trade at 18.23 in late trade. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 1.41% or 0.83 points to end at 58.00 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) shed 0.67% or 0.24 points to 35.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 108 to 68 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.42% or 0.30 to $72.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $68.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 6.10 to trade at $2,580.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 106.49.
