Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.47% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 2.08% or 0.77 points to trade at 37.72 at the close. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) added 1.64% or 0.095 points to end at 5.890 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) was up 1.46% or 0.50 points to 34.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Valmt (HE:VALMT), which lost 2.10% or 0.35 points to trade at 16.28 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 0.66% or 0.26 points to end at 39.00 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) shed 0.47% or 0.25 points to 52.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 60 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.16% or 0.66 to $56.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.15% or 1.11 to hit $50.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.51% or 6.49 to trade at $1278.31 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1742, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8852.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 93.42.
