Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.43% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 2.77% or 1.56 points to trade at 57.92 at the close. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 1.06% or 0.58 points to end at 55.16 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was up 1.05% or 0.28 points to 27.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which lost 2.03% or 0.082 points to trade at 3.964 in late trade. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 1.04% or 0.07 points to end at 6.68 and Nordea Bank AB FDR (HE:NDA1V) shed 0.77% or 0.080 points to 10.280.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 63 and 20 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $69.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.16% or 0.10 to hit $64.07 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 8.20 to trade at $1331.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.2250, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8811.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 90.24.
