Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.40% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which rose 1.96% or 0.55 points to trade at 28.66 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 1.94% or 0.156 points to end at 8.204 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) was up 1.70% or 1.00 points to 59.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO), which lost 1.29% or 0.61 points to trade at 46.54 in late trade. Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) declined 1.05% or 0.27 points to end at 25.36 and Nordea Bank AB FDR (HE:NDA1V) shed 0.68% or 0.065 points to 9.440.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 68 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.05% or 0.03 to $65.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.34% or 0.21 to hit $61.58 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1331.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.2315, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8825.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 89.81.
